TH Georg Agricola Chronicle 2006-2022

Our design of the university chronicle of the TH Georg Agricola plays with the transition from past to present. We do this by superimposing old and new images in different colors. We have used the characteristic colors of the TH Georg Agricola - red, blue and white. Typographic elements are inspired by the teaching of the TH, at the center of which was and is the Bergau. The different indentations of the paragraphs are a tribute to the topography created by coal mining in the landscapes. Page numbers and chapter titles change position within the book, similar to an elevator that transports workers underground.

After 16 years, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kretschmann ended his term of office as President of the TH Georg Agricola in Bochum. On the occasion of this event, we had the honor of designing the university chronicle for the years 2006-2022. The TH Georg Agricola, which once specialized in training mining experts, had to completely redesign its curriculum like almost no other educational institution. Now it has set itself the task of driving structural change in the lignite mining region and worldwide.
